Welcome to Compassion by Design, Inc. (CBD) a newly launched Maryland-registered nonprofit (nonstock) corporation and the nonprofit arm of Purpose by Design, Meetings and Events, LLC. CBD is being established to transform the caregiving experience through empathy-driven education, advocacy, and practical support.
Building on Purpose by Design’s commitment to creating intentional experiences with unforgettable impact, Compassion by Design is launching programs that uplift and empower family caregivers, professional elder-care workers, healthcare teams, and aging individuals. By pairing nonprofit purpose with the operational expertise and infrastructure of Purpose by Design, CBD is intentionally designing high-quality initiatives that support both individuals and the systems that serve them.
As we grow, Compassion by Design is developing accessible resources, specialized training, and innovative community-based programs—supported by a national network of partners—to reshape how families, providers, and institutions approach elder care. Elder Care Training, Caregiver & Long-Term Care Support Services & Resources
We are building comprehensive programs that equip healthcare professionals, long-term care staff, and family caregivers with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to deliver compassionate, effective care for aging adults.
Our services will include specialized training and professional development for elder-care staff, alongside emotional support, education, and practical resources for family caregivers. We will help establish resident councils, integrate assistive technologies, and introduce telehealth solutions that improve access, communication, and continuity of care.
Together, these efforts are designed to strengthen caregiving systems, elevate care standards, and enhance quality of life for older adults in both home-based and facility-based care settings.
Elder Advocacy & Policy Reform
We will lead efforts to drive systemic change through research, education, and advocacy. This initiative will focus on identifying gaps in senior care policies and championing reforms that protect the rights and dignity of aging adults. Through in-depth research, stakeholder engagement, and strategic lobbying, we will work to influence legislation and promote policy solutions that improve long-term care standards, caregiver support, and equitable access to healthcare services for seniors across all communities.
Elder Care Conferences & Workshops
Our annual conference and monthly workshops are being designed to bring together professionals in the elder care field to discuss challenges, innovations, and solutions for improving the quality of life for seniors
Heroes Behind the Scenes
Heroes Behind the Scenes is Compassion by Design’s founding national initiative focused on recognizing, supporting, and elevating caregivers—both family caregivers and frontline care professionals. Launching alongside the organization’s inaugural Golden Years Summit, the initiative combines caregiver education, practical resources, and public recognition to reduce burnout, build community, and affirm caregiving as essential work worthy of visibility, dignity, and support.
