Our Programs
Compassion by Design is developing a series of flagship initiatives designed to support those who care for older adults – including family caregivers, professional caregivers, nursing home staff, and hospital teams. These initiatives are currently in development, intentionally designed to provide essential education, practical resources, and meaningful community connection.
Together, these programs aim not only to support caregivers in their day-to-day roles, but also to advocate for them—helping to shift culture, elevate caregiving as essential work, and foster a more compassionate approach to elder care across systems and communities.
The Golden Circle of Care Hub: The Golden Circle of Care Hub is a forthcoming online platform being developed to connect caregivers with expert guidance, trusted training resources, and peer support. The Hub is designed to create a true “circle” of care—linking family caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community-based resources—so caregivers are supported, informed, and never navigating care alone.
The Golden Years Summit: The Golden Years Summit is being launched as a three-day annual hybrid conference, with the inaugural Summit planned for December 2026. Designed to inspire, educate, and connect those involved in elder care, the Summit will bring together family caregivers, healthcare professionals, long-term care staff, and advocates for expert-led discussions, interactive workshops, and peer learning.
By sharing best practices and emerging ideas, the Summit is intended to empower participants to strengthen care quality, support caregiver well-being, and contribute to positive change across the elder-care landscape.
Legacy Forum Workshops: Legacy Forum Workshops are interactive sessions being developed to help caregivers honor and preserve the life stories, wisdom, and experiences of older adults. These workshops will equip family caregivers and professional care staff with tools to incorporate legacy-building practices—such as storytelling, memory-sharing, and celebration of personal milestones—into everyday care.
By centering each individual’s story, the workshops emphasize dignity, connection, and meaning as core elements of compassionate care.
Heroes Behind the Scenes: The Heroes Behind the Scenes is Compassion by Design’s founding national initiative focused on recognizing, supporting, and elevating caregivers—both family caregivers and frontline care professionals. Launching alongside the organization’s inaugural Golden Years Summit, the initiative combines caregiver education, practical resources, and public recognition to reduce burnout, build community, and affirm caregiving as essential work worthy of visibility, dignity, and support.
Advocacy & Culture Change: Across all initiatives, Compassion by Design is embedding advocacy and culture change as foundational priorities. Through awareness-building, partnerships, and collaboration with stakeholders and policymakers, the organization is working to advance a care culture where compassion, dignity, and respect are the standard—for both elders and those who care for them.
The Golden Circle of Care Hub
The Golden Circle of Care Hub is a centralized platform being developed to support caregivers with trusted guidance, practical tools, and accessible resources. Available digitally and in print, the Hub will offer elder-care guides, planning tools, and step-by-step resources tailored to different stages of the caregiving journey.
Designed for accessibility, the Hub will also connect caregivers to live support through chat and hotline services, offering real-time guidance, referrals, and emotional support. Together, these resources are intended to help caregivers navigate complex decisions with greater confidence and clarity.
Senior Care Support Circles
The Legacy Forum: Care Support Circles are monthly, facilitated gatherings being developed to support caregivers, older adults, and elder-care professionals through connection, shared learning, and guided discussion. Offered in both virtual and in-person formats, these circles are designed to reduce isolation and provide practical strategies for navigating the emotional and systemic challenges of caregiving.
Led by trained facilitators with expertise in elder care and mental health, each session emphasizes empathy, open dialogue, and caregiver well-being. Participants also gain access to curated wellness resources, including referrals and stress-relief workshops focused on resilience and sustainable care.
The Golden Years Summit
The Golden Years Summit is an inaugural national conference being launched to address critical issues in elder care through education, collaboration, and innovation. This three-day convening will bring together caregivers, healthcare and elder-care professionals, advocates, and policymakers for expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, and practical workshops.
The Summit will offer hands-on learning opportunities, including certification courses for participants, while creating space for meaningful networking and cross-sector collaboration. Designed to elevate caregiving and improve care quality, the Golden Years Summit will celebrate caregivers and help shape the future of aging care.
