The Prepared Caregiver Corner™ is a Compassion by Design initiative supported through the 2026 AARP Community Challenge Grant in partnership with AARPandAARP Maryland. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to helping caregivers build resilience, strengthen emergency preparedness, and access trusted information that promotes healthy, independent living for older adults and the families who care for them.
At Compassion by Design, we believe that preparedness is one of the greatest gifts a caregiver can give to themselves and their family. Emergencies rarely come with advance notice, but planning ahead can reduce stress, improve decision-making, and help caregivers respond with greater confidence.

With more than 40 years of nursing experience, leadership in home health and home care, military service, and healthcare consulting, Sharron brings practical, compassionate expertise to every Legacy Forum. Her presentations offer actionable guidance that empowers caregivers to prepare for emergencies before they happen—helping families respond with greater confidence when the unexpected occurs.
