Welcome to Compassion by Design, Inc. (CBD), a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the caregiving experience through compassionate education, advocacy, and practical support for older adults, family caregivers, healthcare professionals, and the communities that serve them.

Founded by Treceia Bazemore, Compassion by Design was created from the belief that every person deserves to age with dignity, every caregiver deserves support, and every healthcare professional deserves the tools and resources needed to provide compassionate, person-centered care. As the nonprofit affiliate of Purpose by Design, Meetings and Events, LLC, CBD combines a mission-driven approach with extensive expertise in education, program development, strategic partnerships, and community engagement to create meaningful, lasting impact.

Our work is centered around innovative, evidence-informed initiatives that educate, empower, and connect communities. Through programs such as the Legacy Forum™ Series, the Prepared Caregiver Corner™, the Golden Circle of Care Hub, and the Golden Years Summit, we provide practical resources, expert guidance, and collaborative opportunities that strengthen support systems for older adults and those who care for them. We are also proud that the Prepared Caregiver Corner™ is supported by AARP and AARP Maryland through the 2026 AARP Community Challenge, helping us expand access to trusted emergency preparedness education and caregiver resources.

At Compassion by Design, we believe that collaboration creates stronger communities.
