But the vision behind Compassion by Design is also deeply personal.

In 2009, Treceia became the primary caregiver for her husband during his illness. Years later, she again stepped into the caregiving role while supporting her father through a prolonged and complex medical journey that included hospitalization, rehabilitation, and long-term care.

Those experiences changed the way she understood caregiving.

She experienced the emotional weight of advocating for someone you love, the difficulty of navigating complicated healthcare and support systems, the challenge of finding trustworthy information when decisions must be made quickly, and the exhaustion that can come from caring for another person while trying to hold everything else together.

She also saw the pressures faced by the professionals and organizations working within those same systems.

Through those experiences, one truth became impossible to ignore: caregiving is not an individual journey. It is a shared responsibility that requires informed families, supported professionals, compassionate systems, prepared communities, and meaningful human connection.

Compassion by Design grew from that understanding.

Treceia brought together her lived caregiving experience and decades of professional expertise to begin building the kind of organization she wished had been easier to find when her own family needed it—one that helps people feel informed rather than overwhelmed, connected rather than isolated, prepared rather than uncertain, and seen rather than forgotten.

Under her leadership, Compassion by Design is developing an interconnected ecosystem of programs, resources, partnerships, and community experiences designed to strengthen the caregiving journey. Through initiatives such as the Legacy Forum™ Series, Prepared Caregiver Corner™, Golden Circle of Care Hub, and Golden Years Summit , CBD creates opportunities for education, practical support, trusted information, collaboration, and connection.

Treceia is also the Founder and CEO of Purpose by Design, Meetings and Events, LLC, where her extensive experience in strategic meeting management, program operations, workforce solutions, and federal peer review support continues to inform her approach to organizational leadership.

Treceia's vision is bigger than any single program. She is working toward a future where older adults are treated with dignity, caregivers are seen and supported, professionals have the resources and recognition they need, organizations work together instead of in isolation, and communities understand that caring for one another is a shared responsibility.
