Building Your Circle of Support

Registration is now open for Legacy Forum #5: Building Your Circle of Support, taking place virtually on November 24, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM ET.

Caregiving was never meant to be a journey taken alone. Yet many caregivers find themselves carrying the responsibilities of caring for a loved one with little help or support. Building a reliable network of family, friends, professionals, and community resources can reduce stress, prevent burnout, and improve outcomes for both caregivers and those receiving care.

Legacy Forum #5 focuses on helping caregivers identify, strengthen, and expand their circle of support. Participants will learn practical strategies for asking for help, coordinating care responsibilities, accessing community resources, and building meaningful partnerships that promote long-term caregiving success.

As part of every Legacy Forum, participants will also engage in our Prepared Caregiver Corner—a dedicated 20-minute interactive segment that provides practical emergency preparedness strategies for caregivers and older adults. During this month's Prepared Caregiver Corner, participants will learn how to identify backup caregivers, develop an emergency communication plan, and build a dependable support network that can respond during emergencies and disasters.

During this interactive session, participants will learn how to:

  • Identify members of their caregiving support team

  • Build stronger relationships with family, friends, and neighbors

  • Communicate caregiving needs and ask for help with confidence

  • Coordinate responsibilities among multiple caregivers

  • Access local caregiving, respite, and community support services

  • Reduce caregiver isolation through peer support and community engagement

  • Strengthen emergency support planning through the Prepared Caregiver Corner

Designed for family caregivers, older adults, healthcare professionals, home care providers, volunteers, and community advocates, this forum provides practical tools to help caregivers build lasting support systems while strengthening preparedness and resilience.
